VRLA Expo Prepares to Host Mixed Reality Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny is about to get his first experience with mixed reality. Virtual Reality Los Angeles (VRLA) will host its third annual expo in April, and this year's attendees will get to experience a fun Easter egg hunt sponsored by AfterNow and VRLA, in partnership with mixed reality king, the Microsoft HoloLens.

Check out the highlights from last year's VRLA Expo below:

For the egg hunt, AfterNow, a development agency for augmented, virtual, and mixed reality, and FLARB, a game and app builder for all platforms, have built a "whimsical indoor park" where virtual eggs are hidden. Viewing the park through a HoloLens, participants will be able to find and collect these eggs.

This is not the only demo that will be available at the event, either; The exhibitors and sponsors include AR/VR heavy hitters like Oculus, HTC, Samsung, Microsoft, NVIDIA, HP, Unity, Star VR, and Epic Games. These contributors will be giving "exclusive content reveals, and bleeding-edge prototype technology that can only be seen at VRLA."

VRLA will also highlight up-and-coming names in mixed reality with its "Indie Zone," a space "dedicated to small teams producing new immersive entertainment and technology."

Passes are currently available for both the general public (starting at $30) and professionals ($299) wishing to attend. The event will take place April 14–15 at the LA Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, thought the expo floor opens at 12 p.m. each day.
